Turvo makes it easy to update multiple shipments, all from the same page. While in list view of your Shipments page, you can bulk update shipment statuses, tags, favorite/unfavorite, and add groups to reduce the hassle of going into each individual shipment.
Protip: Turvo also provides tools for automating shipment status updates under specified conditions. See our article, How to create automatic shipment status transition rules, to learn more.
Select shipments to update
- Login to your Turvo tenant and hover over the left navigation and select Shipments to see all shipments, or click on the particular shipment phase to view shipments only in that phase.
- If not already in list view, update your Shipments view by clicking the list icon in the top right corner of the shipment list.
- If no filter is applied, the list view displays multiple tables for shipments in different phases. To see shipments in a specific phase, click the SEE MORE button on the right above the table for that phase.
- The list view will reload to show a single table for shipments in that phase.
- Now, if you hover over the left side of the shipment line, a checkbox will appear.
- Click the checkbox on multiple shipments to bulk update tags, shipment statuses, shipment dates, add groups, favorite/unfavorite, and create multiple shipment postings all at the same time!
Protip: You can quickly select multiple rows at a time by holding down shift and clicking the first and last rows of the group you need to edit, rather than clicking each row individually. Alternatively, you can use the Select All checkbox on the left of the header row to select all visible rows, up to the first 50 results. You can also bulk deselect the rows by clicking the blue “-” button at the top of the column.
Add/remove tags
To bulk remove or update tags:
- Select your desired shipments.
- In the blue bar that appears along the bottom of your screen, select TAG.
- In the Tag modal, you can start to type your desired tag or choose from the list of tags from the drop-down menu.
- To remove an existing tag, click the X to the right of the blue tag.
- Once you’ve finished adding and/or removing your tags, the SAVE button will change from grey to blue.
- Click SAVE to complete your changes.
Update shipment statuses
To provide shipment status updates in bulk:
- Select your desired shipments.
- Once the blue bar appears along the bottom of your screen, select POST UPDATE.
- In the Post update modal, you can update the shipment’s status from the drop-down menu and provide any additional notes and/or mentions.
- Once you’ve made your desired changes, the SAVE button will change from grey to blue.
- Click SAVE to complete your changes.
Note: The status selected and notes provided in this field will apply to all shipments selected.
Protip: If your tenant’s settings prevent users with specific roles from updating a shipment to a previous status after reaching a specific status, and such a user tries to bulk update shipments w hen at least one shipment has reached the specified status, then the selected shipments’ status cannot be updated. See our article, Locking shipments from changes, to learn more about restricting shipment changes for certain roles.
Bulk updating the status for multimodal shipments
While updating shipments that include multiple route segments with different modes, the POST UPDATE button will only be enabled if the following criteria are met:
- All the modes in the selected shipments should match with the other selected shipments. The route segments for each shipment do not need to be in the same order. See Scenario 1 in the table below.
- If one or more of the selected shipments have an extra route segment, so long as the extra segment uses a mode that exists in the other shipments, the shipments’ status can be updated. See Scenario 2 in the table below.
- None of the selected shipments contain a route segment with a mode that is not present in the other shipments. See Scenario 3 in the table below.

When selecting multiple multimodal shipments, the Status drop-down in the Post update modal will include all statuses available for the shipments’ modes, without duplicating statuses they have in common. The lists below provide an example of the statuses available when selecting Rail-only shipments, Drayage-only shipments, and shipments with both Rail & Drayage route segments.
Note: The blank spaces in the lists do not appear in the UI. They have been inserted to align the different modes’ statuses for better visibility of the statuses that are common between them.

Create shipment postings
For shipments in a Tendered status of the Plan phase, you can also post multiple shipments to your Turvo network, DAT, and/or ITS load boards at the same time. For detailed information on posting your shipments to your Turvo network, DAT, and/or ITS load boards see our How to post a shipment to DAT and ITS and How to create a shipment posting and send to carriers articles.
Bulk update feature: Shipment dates
If you have multiple shipments that need to be updated to the same pickup and/or delivery date, you can update all of them at once using Turvo’s bulk shipment update feature.
To modify dates for multiple shipments, from the Shipments page:
- Use the checkboxes on the left to select the shipments that need to be updated.
- In the blue bar at the bottom, click the UPDATE SHIPMENTS button to update appointment pickup and delivery dates.
Notes:
- If any of the selected shipments have a stop location where the Scheduling type field in the location profile’s Details tab is set to Turvo Appointment Scheduling, then the UPDATE SHIPMENTS button is disabled. See Managing advanced location details to learn more about location scheduling types.
- If the user’s role does not have permission to update shipment dates, then the UPDATE SHIPMENTS button is disabled. To learn more about user roles and permissions, see our article on How to create and manage users.
- The blue bar will scroll up to show fields for updating the shipments’ dates.
- Use the Pickup or Delivery radio buttons to select which date will be updated.
Note: Only one date type can be updated at once. Selecting Pickup will update the origin pickup appointment date for all shipments. Selecting Delivery will update the destination delivery appointment date for all shipments. - Switch the Auto update dates for other stops toggle to the ON position to have Turvo automatically calculate new dates and times for stops between the origin and destination stops
- Use the corresponding Pickup/Delivery appointment date and Time fields to set the new pickup or delivery date.
- Click SAVE to complete the changes to your shipment dates.
- A message will appear that says, Shipment dates updated. Then, the page will refresh to show the updated list view.
