Create an order

Depending on the type of order selected, orders in Turvo serve as a request to move goods or as the movement of inventory inside the warehouse.

Orders also allow you to plan shipments directly in Turvo instead of managing requests across multiple systems. They can be shared with warehouses and carriers so all involved parties are in the know and then be planned into shipments accordingly.

Order types

There are three types of orders you can create in Turvo:

  • Transportation orders: A request to move goods from point A to point B
  • Warehouse orders: A request to move inventory inside a warehouse
  • Customer orders: A representation of a customer's purchase order
Important note: Warehouse and Customer orders are not enabled by default and are not available unless they are enabled. If you’d like to enable Warehouse and/or Customer orders, contact your Turvo representative.

Learn the basic steps to create an order below.

Step 1:

Click on the + icon in the upper left corner and select Order.

  • Service provider: Auto-populates with a specific service provider if you work with one. Otherwise, the field populates Other.
  • Direction: Populates orders.
Note: The method that Turvo uses to determine direction can be set in the Admin console. See the Understanding and updating tenant settings article for more information.
