How to navigate in Turvo

In this article, we provide an explanation of where you can find key navigation features, what our icons represent, and standard terms we use to refer to different parts of the Turvo platform.

We recommend you watch the Turvo Overview view before continuing. This will give you baseline context to help with site navigation.

Dashboard

When you login to Turvo, the Dashboard displays:

The Dashboard shows a quick overview of your account, including shipments in the Plan, Ship, and Bill phases, sales numbers, top spending customers, and even areas within the US with high concentrations of shipments.

You can return to the Dashboard from any page by clicking the Turvo icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Search bar

The search bar appears at the top middle of every page. It is a powerful tool that provides standard search functionality, allowing you to find a record based on the criteria you enter. For example, words, shipment numbers, phone numbers, names, customers, tags., etc. You can narrow your search based on shipment, carriers, customers, locations, contacts, factors, or tags. For more information, see our Searching in Turvo article.

Note: Turvo requires you to enter at least three characters into the search bar to return results.

Navigation bar

The main navigation bar is a vertical bar located on the left of the screen and appears on every page in the platform. Hovering causes it to slide out to show available options. This is primarily what you'll use, in addition to the Search bar, to navigate the site.

Utility navigation

This is another menu that appears on every page in Turvo. Located at the top right corner of the screen, it allows quick access to messages, notifications, and your user profile.

The plus sign +, or Create menu, allows the user to create new shipments, locations, contacts, carriers, and more from any page.

Filters and sort

Filters_menu.png

Whenever you see the filtering buttons, you will be able to filter the data or use a previously saved filter. The My filters menu expands to show filters you have saved, while the filter icon to the right allows you to create an ad hoc filter, which you will have the option to save for repeated use in the future.

For more information on how to filter, see Creating and Managing Filters.

On some pages, the filtering icons will have a Sort button next to them as well:

Sorting allows you to rearrange and show similar data. For example, you can display by date rather than alphabetically.

Card view, List view, and Map view

On some pages in Turvo, you will see the Card view, List view, and Map view icons next to the filter and sort icons on the right side of the screen:

Clicking on these buttons allows you to choose how you would like data to be displayed.

Card view

Card view displays information in a summarized card format. This view is optimum for getting a glance at important shipment, customer, carrier, mode, and other details that you are looking for. Or, for viewing basic details of many shipments, customers, or carriers all at once.

Card view also shows a map of the route for your shipment or order. The stop icons available on the map describe the following:

Pickup locations   Delivery locations   Route
pickup_incomplete.png Future pickup
(Green empty circle)
  delivery_incomplete.png Future delivery
(Red empty circle)
  Driver's planned route (Grey line)
pickup_semicomplete.png Arrived at pickup (Green half-filled circle)   delivery_semicomplete.png Arrived at delivery
(Red half-filled circle)
Driver's actual route via telematics data (Blue line)
pickup_complete.png Picked up - departed (Green checkmark)   delivery_complete.png Delivered - departed
(Red checkmark)
  Most recent tracked location
(Blue circle)

List view

List view puts data into a list and show less detail than what is available in Card view.

Protip: When making bulk updates in list view, you can quickly select multiple rows at a time by holding down shift and clicking the first and last rows of the group you need to edit, rather than clicking each row individually. Alternatively, you can use the Select All checkbox on the left of the header row to select all visible rows, up to the number shown when hovering over the checkbox. You can also bulk deselect the rows by clicking the blue “-” button at the top of the column.

Export List view results

When a date range filter in applied the list views for the Shipments page, Orders page, or in the Exceptions list view in Workbench, you can have your results exported to a .xlsx spreadsheet file.

mceclip1.png

Note: If you click the Download button without a filter applied, the “Apply a filter to enable” message appears. See Using filters to quickly find information, to learn about applying filters.

Depending on the results shown in the list view after a filter is applied, Turvo provides the .xlsx file in one of the following ways:

  • If there are less than 50 results after applying the filter, the .xlsx file will automatically download to your computer from your web browser.
  • If there are more than 50 results after applying the filter, but less than 1000, a pop-up will notify you that the data will be sent in an email to the address linked to your Turvo account. The email will contain a download link that will be valid for 24 hours.
  • If there are more than 1000 results after applying the filter, Turvo will not export the results to a spreadsheet file. Try refining the filter to reduce the number of results.

Note: The columns shown in the provided .xlsx file will match the selected columns that are displayed in the list view when the Download button is clicked. Any fields that are not displayed as columns in the list view will not be included in the exported file.

Map view

Map_view.png

Map view is only available for shipments. This view shows where your shipments are located on a global map. Numbers indicate areas with higher concentrations of shipments, while single shipments are denoted by a blue tractor icon. These icons are clickable to show specific shipment detail.
