By starting a rate quote in Turvo, you can find a carrier, send rate confirmations, and update the quote or shipment status in a way that is transparent across your entire organization. Even when a request for a quote is received via traditional methods such as email, phone or fax, we highly recommend documenting this information in Turvo as well.
This allows each won or lost opportunity to be historically tracked across your organization empowering you to make more informed decisions and over time track the success of your quotes.

Final step
Once all required information is filled out, the CREATE button changes from grey to blue.
- Click CREATE and the quote is created.
- You are taken to the quote summary page where additional detail can be added such as addition costs, items to be shipped, contacts, etc. Existing quotes appear under Shipments > Quotes in the left navigation menu or can be found by searching for the quote number in the global search bar at the top of the screen.
Protip: When a quote is created, it has a Q appended to the front of the Quote ID, so it is easy to distinguish quotes from shipments.
How to update existing quotes
Moving a quote to a live shipment
When you are ready, you can migrate a quote to a shipment by updating the status to Tendered. This changes the quote to an active shipment and assign it a Shipment ID. To move a shipment to Tendered, complete the following steps:
- Locate the quoted shipment in Turvo by searching for the Quote ID in the global search (e.g, Q12345) or locate the quote card by navigating to Shipments > Quote.
- Select the Fast Action Button (or FAB) in the bottom right corner of the quote details page or quote card and select Post update.
- Change the status to Tendered and enter a description (e.g., Rate quote accepted). Once complete, select SAVE to apply your changes. The Shipment ID then changes from a Quote ID to a Shipment ID, and the shipment moved to the Plan phase.
Moving a quote to inactive
If a quote is rejected, expired or lost, the status should be changed to Quote-inactive in Turvo. This allows you to record quotes for shipments that are not being moved without keeping them in an active state (where someone else from your organization might inadvertently start working on the shipment). To move a shipment to Quote-inactive, complete the following steps:
- Locate the quoted shipment in Turvo by searching for the Quote ID in the global search (e.g, Q12345) or locate the quote card by navigating to Shipments > Quote.
- Select the Fast Action Button (or FAB) in the bottom right hand corner of the quote or quote card and select Post update.
- Change the status to Quote-inactive and enter a description (e.g., waiting on response, rate too high, etc).
- Once complete, select SAVE to apply your changes.
