Turvo Tenant Announcements:

We have introduced the ability for you to receive announcements from Turvo across customer tenants.

Note: This feature does not apply to shared tenants.

With this feature, you can control announcement visibility by selecting which type of announcements are received by certain users. There are three announcement types: General, Release, and Finance. For each announcement type, you can select that everyone receives them, just certain roles, or specific users.

You can configure your announcement settings in Admin console > Announcements > System.

To learn how to configure announcements from Turvo, see our Configuring Announcements from Turvo article in the Help Center.

Update the existing cargo insurance rule and calculate total shipment value:

Our previous Check for cargo and liability insurance amount rule only checked to see if there is at least $100K of cargo insurance. We have made some improvements to this rule.

First, we added two new fields in Turvo called Total Item Value and Total Shipment Value. The Total Item Value field is located in Shipment > Items and is calculated by multiplying the item value by the quantity of items; this is an optional field. The Total Shipment Value field is located in Shipment > Route and aggregates the total value from each order item on a shipment into one field; this is also an optional field.

With the update to the Check for cargo and liability insurance amount rule, Turvo now checks to see what amount is present in the Total Shipment Value field. If the Check for cargo and liability insurance amount rule is enabled but the Total Shipment Value field is blank, then Turvo validates the carrier cargo insurance against the default value of $100,000. This is applicable only to cargo insurance and is not applied to liability insurance.

Additionally, we have added Total shipment value as a field for Item in the Public API.

For more information see our, Configure business rules for carrier accounts article in the Help Center.

Support hours of operation at a stop level for ETA calculation:

Previously, the ETA calculation did not consider a location’s hours of operation. We have enhanced the ETA logic to consider hours of operation for each location. This feature relies on the calendar feature by setting hours of operation for each stop location, including intermediate stops.

Note: This feature is enabled by request. Reach out to your Turvo representative to enable this feature.

For more information see our ETA Calculations article in the Help Center.

Filtering shipments for attached documents:

With this release, we added a Documents column in the Shipments page list view that shows the number of attached documents with a subtext showing the document types added. This feature provides:

  • The ability to filter for shipments based on the document types that are attached to them and when the document was last created/updated; and
  • An icon in the Shipments page card view showing that a shipment has attached documents.

Note: The new column and filter options are enabled by default for all tenants. Your saved filters are not affected by these additions. The Documents column is a default column for the Shipments page.

See our How to filter shipments article to learn more.

New shipment exception types - Potential detention & Dwell time exceeded:

With this release, we added the Potential detention and Dwell time exceeded shipment exception types.

  • The Potential detention exception is intended to flag shipments where a stop departure update is missing and a specific period of time has elapsed since the stop appointment’s start, end, or arrival has passed, indicating the possibility that the shipment has been held in detention.
  • The Dwell time exceeded exception is intended to flag shipments where a departure update is missing after the expected dwell time has passed.

To create an Autopilot rule to automatically assign these exceptions, via Admin console > Rules > Shipment > Autopilot, select the following options as the rule’s When statement:

You can also add these exceptions to a shipment manually via the Fast Action Button.
