Turvo's TextLocate Integration

With the TextLocate integration, you can easily receive text message updates for shipments where a driver is not using the Turvo Mobile App or the shipment is not being tracked via telematics. 

Important note: Pings send as an SMS when the mobile number is U.S. based. If the mobile number is based outside of the U.S., pings send via WhatsApp.

TextLocate Setup Prerequisites

In order to integrate with TextLocate, you must have a TextLocate account. Save your Public Key and Private Key because you will need them in the steps below. 

Enabling TextLocate in Integration hub

Once your TextLocate account is created and the above credentials are obtained, follow these steps to enable the TextLocate integration:

  1. Log into your Turvo tenant and navigate to the Admin console via the Profile icon at the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Click the Integration hub tile.

  3. Scroll down to the Driver Tracking integrations section of the Available Integrations tab and click the TextLocate tile.

  4. On the Integrate tab, enter the following credentials obtained from TextLocate as described in the prerequisites section of this article.
        • Public Key
        • Private Key
  5. After the credentials are entered, the CONNECT button at the bottom corner of the screen changes from grey to blue. Click CONNECT to establish the connection.

Send a Status Ping for a Single Shipment

To send a ping for a single shipment, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the shipment you wish to track and click the Fast Action Button (FAB and click TextLocate.

  2. Use the drop-down to select the route for which you want to send the ping.
        • Note: If there is only one route, it will be greyed out and you will not have the option to select another.
  3. Click Send Ping Now.

Schedule Status Pings for a Single Shipment

To schedule a series of pings for a single shipment, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the shipment you wish to track and click the Fast Action Button (FAB) and click TextLocate.

  2. Use the drop-down to select the route for which you want to send the pings.
    Note: If there is only one route, it will be greyed out and you will not have the option to select another.
  3. Click Schedule.

  4. Select when you want the pings to begin and end and use the drop-down to select the ping frequency.

  5. Click the checkbox to Set quiet hours, to define and set hours where the driver will not receive a ping.

  6. Click Schedule.

  7. To see the list of scheduled pings, click the FAB > TextLocate > Schedule.

Delete a Scheduled Ping

To see the list of scheduled pings, click the FAB > TextLocate > Schedule. Click the trash can icon, to delete a ping.

Update Scheduled Pings

In the case that you want to update the ping schedule:

  1. Navigate to FAB > TextLocate > Schedule and click Update schedule.

  2. From here, you follow the same steps to set the ping schedule and click Schedule to save your changes.

Send a Status Ping for Multiple Shipments

To send a ping for multiple shipments at the same time, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the shipment list view and select the shipments you wish to send pings to. 
  2. Click the More options menu (three dots).
  3. From here you have the option to send an individual ping or to schedule pings for the selected shipments.

  4. If you want to send a single ping, click Send ping. If you want to schedule multiple pings, click Schedule ping
  5. From here, depending on which option you choose, the process is the same as if you were sending or scheduling pings from a single shipment.
  6. Once you are finished, Turvo shows you a list of ping that were successful and any that may have failed, as well as the reason. 

View All Pings on a Single Shipment

You can also view all pings by clicking the FAB > TextLocate. From here, you can see all pings and what status has been received by Turvo. 

Shipment Delivery Date and Time and Shipment ID in TextLocate

In TextLocate, the delivery date and time appear in the Custom field and the Shipment ID appears in the Custom2 field, shown in the image below. 

Disconnect from TextLocate

If you no longer wish to receive pings from TextLocate, you can disconnect from the integration by navigating to Admin console > Integration hub > My integrations, and clicking the TextLocate tile. 

 

Then, click the three-dot menu at the top right and click Disconnect.

 

A confirmation window appears to confirm that you would like to disconnect from TextLocate. Select No to remain connected, and select Yes to disconnect.
