Understanding shipment tabs

Once a shipment has been created, you can view and edit the shipment details by navigating to Shipments in the left navigation bar. You can select from the various shipment phases.

Note: Some features described below may not be enabled by default for all tenants. If you see something you'd like to enable for your tenant, reach out to your Turvo representative for more information.

View, sort, and filter the shipment view

Once in the view that contains all shipments, you can choose to view the list in card view or list view. Clicking the card icon at the top right corner will allow you to view all of the shipment cards while clicking the list view icon from the top right corner will present shipments and their information in a list.

Sort shipments

To sort shipments, click the two-arrow icon near the top-right of the list and select your option from the drop-down list. You can also choose to view the page by company or account.

Filter Shipments

Clicking the filters icon allows you to quickly filter shipments. You can save filters to use again in the future.

View and edit shipment information

Once you've located and clicked on the shipment you want, you are taken to the shipment screen. The white ribbon across the middle of the screen shows the various tabs you can select to view or edit information.

Summary

The Summary tab displays cards showing a shipment overview, route information, customer information, carrier information, costs, and other information:

Overview card

The Overview card contains top-level information about:

  • Reference ID
  • Route
  • Planned, requested, and actual pickup dates
  • Planned, requested, and actual delivery dates
  • Appointment dates
  • Mode
  • Items
  • Equipment
  • Margin

Add Reference IDs to the Overview Card

To add Customer or Carrier IDs to the Overview card, navigate to Admin console > Settings > Shipments > Shipment IDs. Toggle ON Customer ID and/or Carrier ID and then select the reference ID.

Note: You can choose up to five IDs.



Hide Dates on the Overview Card

To limit the dates that are on the Overview card, first you must set the correct permissions. Navigate to Admin console > Roles, permissions & sharing > select the role > Shipment > Details > OverviewRoute. From there you can set permissions to:

  • View
  • View & edit
  • View, edit & delete
  • No permissions

This will hide dates in the following areas of Turvo:

  • Shipments > Summary > Overview card
  • Shipments > Details > Overview > Route
  • Shipments > Filters > Date range

Route card

The Route card contains more detailed information about the route, like:

  • Carrier
  • Mode
  • Miles
  • Tracking providers
  • Origin
  • Destination

Carrier card

The Carrier card contains more detailed information about the carrier, like:

  • Carrier name
  • Driver
  • Contact
  • Equipment
  • Costs
  • Pay to

Customer card

The Customer card contains more detailed information about the customer, like:

  • Customer name
  • Contact
  • Items
  • Costs
  • Bill to

Costs card

The Costs card contains more detailed information about the shipment financials, like:

  • Customer bill
  • Carrier payables
  • Margin

Details

To edit the shipment details, navigate to the Details tab.

The Details tab contains the Shipment, Customers, and Carriers blocks where you can edit the information within each segment.

Shipment

Within the Shipment block, you can expand the Overview segment to view or edit the details within.  Additionally, each section can be expanded to view or edit the information within. 

Note: Not all sections are editable.

The Overview segment contains:

  • IDs
  • Additional attributes
  • Margin
  • Equipment needed
  • Route
  • Postings
  • Groups
  • Commissions
  • Routing Guide

When the Shipment block is collapsed, it shows the shipment phase.

Customers

You can expand the Customer segment to see more detailed information about the customer. 

The Customers segment contains: 

  • Customer name
    • IDs
    • Additional attributes
    • Stops
    • Items
    • Costs
    • Invoices
    • Payments
    • Accounting 
    • Contacts
    • Account owner

Carriers

You can expand the Carriers segment to see more detailed information about the carrier. 

The Carriers segment contains: 

  • Carrier name
    • IDs
    • Additional attributes
    • Stops
    • Items
    • Costs
    • Invoices
    • Payments
    • Accounting 
    • Contacts
    • Account owner
  • Route
    • Segment IDs
    • Equipment used
    • Tracking provider
    • Driver

Timeline

Any changes that are made to shipments appear in the Timeline tab. The timeline provides details on who made the change and when.

Orders

The Orders tab allows you to see all of the orders that have been associated with this shipment. Hovering over an order card will reveal the Fast Action Button, allowing you to make updates to orders right from there. Clicking on an order card will take you to the order summary page.

Messenger

The Messenger tab will display all messages that you have permission to see. For more information on how to use Messenger, check out our Message your Turvo contacts article.

Documents

The Documents tab houses any documents added to the shipment. You can add documents by selecting + Add document. To learn more, see our video Adding required documents to shipments.

Notes

If there are any notes (or private special instructions) for the shipment, you can add the details in the Notes tab. Notes are not shared across tenants, but they will be visible to all users in your tenant.

Important note: Notes are not private. Do not add any notes that you wish to keep private.

Contacts

The Contacts tab allows you to add a new contact to the shipment as well as view and edit all existing shipment contacts.

Sharing

The Sharing tab enables you to connect and collaborate in real time across transportation planning and execution activities. This can involve one organization inviting another to collaborate via connected Turvo tenants allowing the two organizations to be connected on the Turvo Network.

Carriers

The Carriers tab allows you to see what carriers are assigned to the shipment, as well as what carriers are available for the shipment. You can remove the carrier from the shipment by hovering over the carrier and clicking Remove carrier

Tasks

The Tasks tab allows you to create and manage tasks specific to the shipment. Some tasks are automatically generated by the Turvo platform, and others can be created and assigned to you or others.
