Video: Changing a driver on a shipment

This video covers the process by which you can change drivers on a shipment when the driver is associated with the same carrier or with a different carrier. The steps are also detailed in the article below. To learn more about sharing shipments with drivers, please see our article Assign a driver to a shipment.

Changing a driver from the same carrier

In the shipment’s Details tab, navigate to the Carriers block and click to expand the Driver segment.

Click the X on the right of the Driver field, and select YES to remove the original driver.

Now you can add a new driver to the shipment. Remember that the new driver must be associated with the same carrier assigned to the shipment.

Changing a driver from a different carrier

If you need to replace the original driver with a new driver associated with a different carrier, first you must remove the original driver.

In the shipment’s Details tab, navigate to the Carriers block and click to expand the Driver segment. Click the X on the right of the Driver field, and select YES to remove the original driver.

Note: The original driver should always be removed from the shipment before removing the assigned carrier. This avoids complications and future errors with shipment execution in the Turvo Driver App.

Once the original driver is removed, remove the carrier by clicking the X on the right of the Carrier segment. Click YES to remove the carrier from the shipment.

After the carrier is removed, add the new carrier by clicking the plus (+) sign and entering the new carrier name. Select the desired carrier from the dropdown and click the green checkmark to add the new carrier.

Click to expand the Driver segment, and assign the new driver to the shipment by searching for their name and selecting them from the dropdown. Click SAVE AND SHARE to save your changes and share the shipment with the driver.
