Inventory in Turvo consolidates your WMS and ERP solutions into a single source of truth for yourselves and your customers.
By ingesting data from your existing WMS or ERP solutions, Turvo’s Inventory feature provides seamless visibility of inventory levels and the orders attached to them. This information is available to you and your external customers.

This article gives more information on how to use Turvo’s Inventory visibility feature with an Inventory overview, detailed information on the individual tabs available on an Inventory item, and how to share Inventory with your shipping partners.
The overview of your inventory can be found by navigating to Inventory in the left navigation bar. From there, you can choose to view the page in card view or list view, as well as sort or filter the inventory that displays.
In card view, each card will display:
- The item name
- The account the item belongs to
- The location of the inventory
- When it was last updated
- Item images
- Item number
- Basic quantity information
- Notes from the item master (at the bottom of the card).
List view displays items as a list with the item information separated by columns. You can customize which columns are displayed in your List view by clicking on the three dots on the top right corner and selecting or deselecting the information you need to display.
Protip: Turvo will automatically save your column selection and order to an applied filter.
You can change the units shown on the inventory by clicking on the ruler icon in the top right and selecting the base unit calculation you’d like to see.
Clicking an inventory card takes you into the inventory item where you can see a quick view of inventory item information and levels, a bar chart displaying inventory levels by disposition, and an image (or barcode if an item image isn’t available).
The information available on the left side of the bar chart gives quick view of important item details:
- Item name
- The account associated with that item
- The facility where the inventory is stored
- The last inventory update for that item
- Item number
- Available, expected, on hand, and committed inventory levels in the selected unit of measurement
- Item notes/comments
Next to that information is a bar chart representing the inventory disposition in a visual format. The bar graph shows the levels of expected, available, committed, and on hold inventory in selected units of measurements.
Below the quick view, the inventory item is sectioned into the following tabs:
The Summary tab consists of three card views: Account, Item and Attributes.
- Account: Gives a quick view of the account that owns the item. The information includes the account name, address, primary contact email address, and the number of orders that item has been added to.
- Item: Displays the item name and item number.
- Attributes: Shows the dimensions, weight, freight class, and temperature range of the item. Clicking on any of the attributes will bring you to the attribute block of the item master.
- Note: Any changes made to the item master will not reflect on inventory items retroactively. The information will only update for future Inventory ingested from the WMS or ERP when it’s reflowed/updated.
The Details tab has an Overview block that is broken into three sections: Product description, IDs, and Attributes. The information available here is pulled from the Overview block in the Details tab of the Item Master record.
Note: The information in these blocks is read only.
- Product description: Displays product information such as the item name, account, status, type, notes and more.
- IDs: Shows the reference IDs including their types and the numbers attached to the item.
- Attributes: Reveals the item attributes and storage requirements including the units of measure, dimensions, temps, etc.
Note: When an entered unit of measure is different from the user/tenant config, the conversion will show in brackets.
The Timeline tab provides a summary of updates and changes made to the inventory item, who made the change, and the date/time when the change was made.
As well as scrolling through the entries, you can also filter the Timeline tab. To apply a filter, go to the top left of the tab and select the type of filter you are looking to apply. There are three different types of filters:
- Event type: View specific timeline actions. You can select from the following:
- Lot added: A new lot record was added to the inventory item.
- Inventory depleted: Search specifically for those lot/pallet records where inventory has been marked depleted.
- Count change: Events where the inventory item quantity is updated. For example, the quantity of Expected inventory items is updated from 100 to 60.
- Inventory adjusted: Events where the inventory item quantity was adjusted, along with the reason for the adjustment and any comments made.
- Exceptions: An exception was reported on an inventory item.
- Lot #: View events associated to specific Lot or Customer lot #’s.
- Pallet #: View events associated to specific Pallet or Customer pallet #’s.
- User: View actions being taken by a specific user in Turvo. Users are selected from the drop down menu and you can select multiple users, if needed.
- Date range: View records for a specific day/time period.
The Inventory tab shows details of the inventory item in terms of lots and pallets.
Like the other tabs available in an inventory item, you can use filters to help sort the information:
- Lot #: Filter by the lot number or customer lot number.
- Pallet #: If pallet is selected, you can filter by the pallet number or customer pallet number, along with the Lot #.
- Date: The date filter allows you to choose a date type from the drop down (Expiration date, Best by date, etc) and select a date range. You can create a custom date range, or choose from the following: Any time, This week, or This month. To create a custom date range, click each field to select a date from the calendar, or type in a date with the format mm/dd/yy.
- Quantity: Choose to view the amount of inventory the item has On hand, Available, Expected, Committed, On hold, Damaged, Original, or Current. From there, you can choose the quantity and whether your results will show items with inventory that are less than, greater than, or equal to the quantity. You can also choose to view the results in the item’s base units, gross weight, net weight, or in terms of pallets.
- Exception: Filter by whether or not the inventory item has any exceptions logged against it.
Below the filters is the list view on the inventory item with configurable columns. To add or remove columns from the view, click the three dots on the far right of the column header and select the columns. Those with checkmarks next to them are visible in the list view.
The Orders tab shows details of active and historical orders the inventory item has been added to. The information available in this view is customizable by clicking the three dots on the far right of the column header and choosing which columns you’d like to see. For sorting ease, you can also filter this tab with the following options:
- Customer: The customer account that owns the inventory.
- Origin: The starting location for the order route.
- Pickup date: The date and time of the appointment the order was scheduled to be picked up.
- Destination: The ending location of the order route.
- Delivery date: The date and time of the appointment the order was scheduled to be delivered.
- Direction: Inbound or outbound.
- Status: The status of the shipment associated with the order.
Documents & Messenger
Like other entities across Turvo, item inventory profiles can have documents uploaded and associated to them if needed.
Messages can also be sent through Turvo in relation to a specific inventory item under the Messenger tab.
Sharing Inventory with your shipping partners
Inventory sharing in Turvo is only available with those who own the Inventory and have their own Turvo tenants. To begin sharing your inventory with the shipping partners that own it, reach out to your Turvo representative to have it enabled.
